Can engine damage be caused by using a motor oil that has a wider range such as 0W-50 Oil?
the first # is the viscosity (thickness) of the oil cold. it is thin in order to allow the engine to turn over when cold. the 2nd # is the viscosity hot. the only time you want it that thick hot is if you have leaks, especially the piston rings.
